CK Wetland Services provides quality wetland services throughout Minnesota and neighboring states. We have a strong background working with the government, contractors, engineers, renewable developers, and private residential clients. We have extensive experience delineating a wide variety of habitats across the Midwest. Our staff have an excellent reputation with regulatory agencies based on our expertise and quality work, and this reputation helps our clients obtain approvals in a timely manner.

Who We Are

CK Wetland Services' staff are licensed under the Minnesota Wetland Professional Certification Program (MWPCP), and the Society of Wetland Scientist's Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS). Our experience includes identification and documentation of wetland soils, hydrology, and vegetation in accordance with federal & state methods. These include the United States Army Corps of Engineers 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and the applicable regional supplements.

CK Wetland Service’s staff understands what it takes to help clients resolve regulatory issues, obtain environmental permits, and manage environmental programs for development. Our team will help you get your project through the permitting process, while following a code of ethics to maintain a high standard of skills, practice, and integrity.

Curt Kleist is the CEO and Principal Wetland Specialist with over 15 years of experience in the ecological and environmental compliance field. His qualifications include complex wetland delineation projects, wetland permitting, botanical surveys, WOUS assessments, functional assessments, habitat assessments & GIS analysis. Mr. Kleist’s background includes working in a variety of habitats including: midwestern grasslands, tall-grass prairies of great plains, agricultural fields, pastures, and wide variety of forest habitats in the Midwest, Great Plains, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeastern United States. Mr. Kleist holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries & Wildlife Biology from the University of North Dakota and an Associates of Science in Geography/GIS from Itasca Community College.

What We Do

Our comprehensive services include in-office analysis and on-site field delineation. We evaluate the site characteristics utilizing survey-grade GPS mapping. CK Wetland Service's capabilities and knowledge of Minnesota, along with extensive experience delineating wetlands in the region, would provide solid support to development plans.

We have unique expertise supporting clients through many aspects of their projects including level 1 & 2 wetland delineations, wetland assessments, permit applications, and a variety of GIS support services. We regularly coordinate with local, state, and federal agency personnel to get projects successfully permitted, constructed, and operational. Our services follow guidelines widely recognized by regulatory agencies and industry.
